"I don't know. I think I left my brain on the other side of that door," Dominik replies dazedly as he and I both get dressed again. I wonder how long we've managed to escape the kids. I wonder if my sister is still waiting in line, or if she'd decided to jump ship without me, since I'd ditched her.
"It was... nice seeing you, Vanessa," Dominik says, and I kiss him, then help him put on his white beard. "To say the least," he adds, winking. "You know where to find me if you want to wish for anything... I'm the guy who can make it happen."
"Oh yeah?" I ask, deciding to cash in on this little favor. "How about giving my nieces and nephew out there a VIP pass to Santa's lap?"
Dominik laughs, nodding. "All right," he agrees, "if you really want, I can bend the rules for you."
Denise slips a piece of paper into my back jeans pocket, giving me a quick smack. "It's my phone number," she tells me, the corners of her eyes crinkling with mischief. "Use it. Would you like to come by my place later on tonight, and meet my roommate Morgan? I'm sure you'll just love her..."
