“So is this the surprise you had planned for tonight?” she asked, gesturing to their surroundings, hoping there would be more to their evening than a trip to a strip club.
Eric checked the time on his cell phone and slid it back on the table. “We’ll leave when we finish this beer,” he said. “And yes, there is more. Much more.”
Roxie turned back to her drink, covering her smile with the glass, and crossed her legs a little bit tighter together, knowing Eric would make good on his promise.
They left the strip club a few moments later, having guzzled their beer more quickly. Roxie was unbelievably and unexpectedly turned on by Jasmin’s striptease, and being back on Eric’s shaking motorcycle was only contributing to the building pressure in her tight jeans. He emerged from the parking lot, looked both ways, and crossed the street, directly into the parking lot of the Peek Inn Motel, a place notorious for its pay-by-the-hour room rates and unconventional accommodations. Roxie had been there several times before with other guys, needing a quick lay and wanting more space than the car to do it in. It helped that every room at the Peek Inn was equipped with a generous hot tub as a standard… and some had even more interesting perks.
“Interesting choice,” Roxie commented wryly.
Eric held the door to the reception open for her, smiling, saying nothing.
Roxie recognized the man behind the counter and took that as a bad omen. He had seen her there before with other men. She hoped he would simply treat her like any other customer at this hour.
“Hello, miss, nice to see you again,” he said. So much for discretion. Roxie winced as Eric turned his head to look at her questioningly. Roxie shrugged as though maybe the clerk was having a case of mistaken identity.
“Which room would you like this time?” the man asked, pointing towards the wall, where photos of what each room looked like were hanging.
Roxie didn’t bother looking, because she knew already, but she let Eric peruse the pictures. He hesitated at one photo, then smiled at the clerk.
“We’ll take three-oh-five,” Eric replied, and Rachel mentally raised an eyebrow. She knew exactly what Eric had seen in that particular room that interested him.
The clerk smiled lewdly at Roxie but she looked away, so he handed Eric the room key and a small package. “Have a good night,” he said, and Roxie followed Eric into the elevator.
He was on her in an instant, his warm lips covering hers, pressing himself between her and the mirrored wall. The elevator pinged to announce their arrival on the third floor.
